CEMATEX announces that Spain will host the 18th edition of ITMA, the world’s largest exhibition of textile and garment machinery technology. It will be held at the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre from 20 to 26 June 2019. ITMA has a 64-year history of displaying the latest in machinery and software for every single work process of textile making.
Fira de Barcelona won the international bid organised by CEMATEX, the owner of the ITMA and ITMA ASIA shows, after fierce competition from three other short-listed bidders out of an original list of 9 venues.
ITMA is the trendsetting textile and garment technology platform where the industry converges every four years to explore fresh ideas, effective solutions and collaborative partnerships for business growth. Organised by ITMA Services,
Technological innovation, a basic of industry transformation, is pivotal to the success of the textile and garment industry.
ITMA 2019 is expected to feature over 1,500 exhibitors from 45 countries spread over 200,000 square metres of gross exhibition space.
“ITMA 2019 exhibition space has been sold out since April, and many of our exhibitors will be using the platform to launch new machinery and innovative solutions,” said Fritz P. Mayer, president of CEMATEX. “We expect interest from visitors to be very strong. Hence, visitors are advised to book their accommodation and buy their badge early.”
Visitors buying their badge can also book seats at the conferences and forums which are taking place during the show. To avoid onsite queues, once they have purchased their badges they can print them before they arrive at the exhibition. In addition, visitors requiring a visa to enter Spain can request an invitation letter when ordering their badge.
When ITMA was last held in Barcelona in 2011, visitor ship exceeded 100,000 from 138 countries. 90% of the visitors came from outside of Spain, and the international mix of visitors and buyers was very well received by exhibitors.
